Commercial dog breeders are among the most evil scum of the earth. I think backyard breeders are just as bad.

It's also illegal for pet stores in my country to sell dogs and cats. You always have to get them directly from the breeder, the former owner or a rescue shelter. That way you always know where the dog comes from and additionally there is no way to create a demand from one source so big that puppy mills could exist.

OMG! i know someone who got a dog from there and when they saw this they nearly puked.... her dog is a good dog but it did have a lot of medical issues exspecialy with her teeth etc etc.... this needs to be stoped!

i used to work at pet store in NH and most of our puppies came from hannah's online puppy auction (that way the store could not get traced back to the mills because they weren't buying directly from the mills because they had almost got shut down years before for that) also even if you are a heartless person and don't care about the suffering of the dogs in the mills pet stores are a huge rip off they would buy the puppies at only auctions for $40-$80 and sell them anywhere from $1500-$3000

I'm COMPLETELY AGAINST puppy mills. My mom rescued a little toy poodle about 13 yrs ago, and the damage done to our "Tate" is irreversible, no matter how much love we give him. But how do we RESCUE these pups from the mills w/out inadvertenly supporting these mills? You still have to PAY for attempting to "rescue" a poor little puppy. It's a Catch 22. HOW DO WE SHUT DOWN THE PUPPY MILLS? As far as Petland goes, they're literally creating a profit cycle by supporting these mills for PM owners.

places.I feel bad for those that are already there. Please please BAN the puppy mills and the stores who support them!
KAbigD (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
True that, It's like some kind of cycle, if you buy from those stores/places like petland you are supportin them, and they'll keep buying puppies from those nasty puppy mills, and the puppy mills will keep breeding. That's a really nasty business. I have 2 dogs, and I am trying to get my female spayed, because she had puppies a month ago. I'll make sure those puppies will go to a good home. And no more puppies from my dogs. I love my dogs and i would hate it if they would of ended up in those

I have two mutts. I rescued one from a dirty home & poor conditions at 5 wks. They were give aways & I asked them to keep him until he was 6 wks old (minimum litter time). They agreed but gave the rest of his litter away early so I went & got him. Wish I could have taken more. This wk, I am bringing home a rescue dog. A 4/5 mo puppy who when found was almost dead. I can hardly wait to get him home. How can anyone be so cruel to such wonderful pets?
thoseheroineyes (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I don't get why the USDA doesn't shut these places down if they have been sited for such cruel conditions. Same goes for those factory farms that the USDA is supposed to monitor yet does nothing when they are clearly engage in inhumane activities.

breaks my heart to hear, see and know this. Just go to a local animal shelter and adopt a dog, dont buy it from pet stores because you know where those dogs and puppies come from. I wish i could put all those owners of puppy mills and put them in a cage and treat them the way they treat animals so they can feel how those poor animals feel.. I wish it could stop. please :( After all i dont know how people actually can put any animal in a cage.. you just take away there freedom!!! Basterds
