when you really think about it, ANY birth control has risks...it's putting foreign chemicals and objects into your body, and its not always good...

@angelgirl2188 I feel for you!! But this sounds like an unconvincing procedure, and im worried about the implications for women.......... could take up to a year to get pregnant!!!Good luck.

I had one put in me. Its been allmost a year. And I keep geting alot of cramps. Every time I call my doctor they says it normal. But I dont think it is normal to have this much cramping. I had to have it put in cause I had utrus cancer.

paraguard is 10 year and mirena is 5 year max time that it should be inserted, But either one can be removed before that when ever you choose.

Im 32 i had the para guard for almost 10 years and never had any problems with it. I took it out 2 years ago and now have a 3 month old baby boy. So its a great choice for a long term prevention method without being permanent.

hi everyone. i read "galina26" 's common and i want to say that i have Mirena IUD too. i am 22, i do not have children i've never been pregnant and as a result i haven't gave birth. It is true that the worst pain was tha moment it was inserted and the cramps afterwards, but everything is ok now. i have the Mirena IUD for 1 year and half without any problems...
