I think the boyfriend seems like a nice person, and he seems to really care about Pam -- he just doesn't know the proper way of dealing with an alcoholic partner, so he enables her without realizing that's what he's doing.I'm glad he listened to the interventionist and was willing to stop his own drinking to help Pam.

@ anjajuneActually, she's not. She's pretty tough and kick ass, but not with the males in the family. Very protective of my dad and me.You're dead on correct on everything else though.

Your mom was dominiering and you find some some safety in the situation that you know even thoug you deep inside know that its not good for you. A bit masochisitc. You want to save people who cant handle their lives. And that's ok, just take care of youself.

Good grace how did i end up with this program? It's not really interesting to see people destroying themselves.

I love how he's telling an alcoholic "You've got to stop your drinking someway, somehow.." yet he refuses to get rid of his liqour at home, and instead leaved an alcoholic in the house for 4 days while he is gone on business WITH BOOZE IN THE FUCKING HOUSE.. does that not enable her?
